Valentine's Day is for Chocolate and Cherries

I love chocolate and cherry combined. It doesn't matter if its in a richly colored piece of jewellery or a culinary delight. I thought I would share some delectable offerings with you of both types.

Chocolate Covered Cherries

Ingredients

  • 60 maraschino cherries with stems
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 1 pound chocolate confectioners' coating

Directions

  1. Drain cherries and set on paper towels to dry.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine butter and corn syrup until smooth. Stir in confectioners' sugar and knead to form a dough. Chill to stiffen if necessary. Wrap each cherry in about 1 teaspoon of dough. Chill until firm.
  3. Melt confectioners' coating in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Dip each cherry in by its stem, and place on waxed paper lined sheets. Chill until completely set. Store in an airtight container in a cool place. Best after 1 or 2 weeks.

Being Stalked

I know the title sounds morbid and really scary but let me tell you a bit about this kind of stalking.
We are the Stalkers. We stalk a studio by promoting them and advertizing them to help them achieve sales. We alternate between a member studio and a random studio. I love being able to help others this way.

This morning however I discovered that I'm being stalked by my own guild. I'm blushing and honored to be stalked by such a great group of artisans.
If you would like to see the antics of our guild you can find us here: Stalkers Blog
or if you would like to join us you can find us here at the Stalkers Guild Hall

Thank you all for the work you have put in to the Stalkers Guild and in your stalking. You're an awesome group of talented artisans and I'm proud to call myself a Stalker.

Rainbows in the depths of winter

December is a hard month for a lot of us. Its dark and cold (especially if you live where I do) and often full of holiday stress. Sometimes a little light and color can cheer one up or make the day seem lighter, in that spirit here is a rainbow for you to enjoy.

Blogging and the busy woman

Okay, so I admit it. Blogging is the bane of my existence. It's not that I don't have a lot to say. I just don't always know if it makes sense to blog it. There is something rather intimidating about having the contents of ones mind on ones musings being available to the public at large. So what do you blog about to keep things fresh and interesting? I think I need to brainstorm on that a little more.

I have been using my blog primarily as a platform for my business. I love making jewellery. It relaxes me. I do not however care for the amount of time it takes to market my business. I have learned that marketing is not for me. At least marketing my own products.

So while I stew about how to blog and what I should blog about I have some stunning new gems and beads that are positively screaming at me to get back to my job of creating.
I'll be back.......later.

November is fast approaching.

As many of you know I'm a November baby. Growing up I really didn't care for my birthstone but now as I have matured in my tastes I find the richness of topaz is very appealing to me. So for everyone who has a precious November baby in their lives now is the time to start shopping for their birthday gifts. I was recently included in this great November birthday inspired collection and I thought I would share it with you for some great ideas for gifts.
